Climate Experiment on Loma Ridge Uncovers Habitat Vulnerabilities

Drought, wildfires, and air pollution are stressing Southern California's natural vegetation, and ecologists want to know what long-term impact these conditions will have on Orange County's ecosystems.
With this in mind, the University of California, Irvine, (UCI) and the U.S. Department of Energy are collaborating on a three-year experiment, which ends in 2013, to explore how changes in precipitation, drought, fire severity and air pollution may affect Orange County's ecosystems over the next century...
