Harvest Festival at IRC's Native Plant Farm
Volunteers needed...Help Grow the Natural Landmarks!
Have you seen our native plant farm lately? Orange poppies, royal purple lupines and other species of native flowers are boasting their beauty and waiting to be harvested.
IRC is hosting a "Harvest Festival" on April 21 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, but we need your help. Spend a late afternoon gardening at the native plant farm and help us gather seeds that will be used to nurture and restore approximately 2,000 acres of degraded habitat within the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks over the next 10 years.
Last summer, with the help of various organizations including Orange County Fire Authority, Irvine Valencia Growers and Orange County Produce, a retired avocado orchard was transformed into the IRC's very own native plant farm.
